Access requirements and criterion of admission

A ) Access

Access requirements:

To access the official Master’s teachings it will be required to be in possession of a Spanish official university degree or other sent by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Space that authorise in the sent country of the degree for the access to Master’s teachings.

Additionally, the graduates will be able to access according to educational systems indifferent to the European Higher Education Space without the need of the official approval of their degrees, prior verification by the University of Valencia that those confirm a training level equivalent to the corresponding Spanish official university degrees and that authorise in the sent country of the degree for the access to postgraduate teachings. The access through this way will not imply, in any case, the official approval of the previous degree that the interested person is in possession, nor its recognition to other effects than to study the Master’s teachings.

B ) Admission

1.Responsible body:

 

The body responsible for the admission of students to the Master’s Degree in Food Quality and Safety will be the Academic Coordination Committee.

 

The Academic Coordination Committee, is integrated by five members, included its president, who will be the professor of the University of Valencia with permanent connection and with the doctor degree, who will work as a director of the Master’s.

In the case of students of degrees who don’t have basic knowledge to study the Master’s the Committee of the Master’s will determine the possibility to carry out previously up to 30 complementary training credits.

 

2 Criteria and assessment of merits for the admission:

 

Attending to the profile and specific admission requirements, the order of preference is established depending on the degrees, and within each one they will be ordered depending on their respective academic records:

 

  • Holders of a licenciatura in Pharmacy, Food Science and Technology, Veterinary Medicine and holders of a diplomatura in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Holders of a licenciatura in Biological Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Sciences, Medicine and Surgery and holders of a diplomatura in Nursing.
  • Holders of a licenciatura in Sea Science.
  • Chemical and Agricultural Engineers.
  • Any other degree related to the area.

Other merits such as additional degrees, language knowledge, publications will be also considered.
