10th Food Safety Symposium at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences

The Master's Degree in Food Quality and Safety is organizing, in collaboration with the Food Safety section of the Spanish Association of Toxicology (AETOX), the 10th Food Safety Symposium at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences of the Universitat de València on 13th March 2025.

The conference was led by Dr. María José Ruiz (director of the master's degree and president of AETOX) and Dr. Houda Berrada, coordinator of the food safety section of AETOX.

The conference programme comprised a lecture delivered by Dr. Marta Mesías, a senior scientist at the Institute of Food Science and Technology and Nutrition (ICTAN-CSAN). The lecture, which was entitled 'Acrylamide in processed foods: risks, regulation and mitigation strategies in food safety', was of particular interest.

The symposium also included an interesting session of oral presentations and posters, in which master's and PhD students shared their research and recent developments.

The event provided an invaluable opportunity for dialogue and reflection on the challenges and solutions pertinent to food security.
