The Valencian Community has been pioneer in the development of marketing in Spain. There are four specific departments in Marketing and Market Research in the country. One of them is the one at the University of Valencia, who leads the project. This department brings together seven professors in Marketing and Market Research at the same university (the largest department in Spain), all with a minimum of two six-year periods of research. It was the first to implement inter-university doctoral studies in Marketing and to receive a Quality Award from the Spanish Ministry of Education. The current doctoral studies are the continuation from the former curriculum, which have also received the “Pathway to Excellence” award by the Spanish Ministry of Education for the 2013-2014 academic year, which guarantees the high degree of competence of the professionals in it.
