The Chilean National Security Council honours Professor Gil Monte for his participation as a lecturer in JORNAPRASO 2016

Professor Pedro R. Gil-Monte, co-director of the Master’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety of the UV, has received the special recognition of the Consejo Nacional de Seguridad Chile for his participation as a guest lecturer in the “18th National Session on Accident Risk Prevention and Occupational Health”, held in Santiago de Chile from 11 to 14 October 2016 (JORNAPRASO 2016).


The National Security Council of Chile is a corporation “created in 1953 by government determination, with the basic objective of promoting risk prevention and raising awareness about the need to prevent accidents and occupational diseases in the different activities of the national life”.

Gil Monte received recognition for his participation as a lecturer in the JORNAPRASO 2016, a meeting that takes place every two years and has convened the main industry risk prevention professionals and other professionals related to safety, occupational health and environment.


The main objective of the Thirteenth JORNAPRASO was to discuss specialized work, exchange experiences, and learn about programmes, methods and technological advances in the field of Occupational Health. Companies, public entities, universities and mutual societies from the entire spectrum of the prevention industry at the local level met on 11 and 14 October in order to deliver the conclusions drawn from the summit to the national authority and, if applicable, also to the OIT


Professor Pedro R. Gil-Monte is accredited as full professor by ANECA of the Department of Social Psychology of the Universitat de València, and head of the Unidad de Investigación Psicosocial de la Conducta Organizacional (UNIPSICO). His research activity is focused on Occupational Health Psychology, the improvement of the quality of working life, the evaluation of psychosocial factors in work and the prevention of psychosocial risks of occupational nature.


Currently he is director of the research project “Validació transocupacional d’un model sobre el desenvolupament de la síndrome de ‘burnout’: desenvolupament i avaluació d’un programa d’intervenció” (“Transocupational validation of a model on the development of ‘burnout’ syndrome: development and evaluation of an intervention programme”), financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and aimed to analyse the development of the burnout syndrome in teachers of Secondary Education in Valencian Community. He has authored more than 150 publications in scientific magazines, books and chapters.
