Teacher María Pareja Olcina shared her experiences and thoughts with the attending students.
On 13 December, the two specialities of Spanish Language and Literature of the Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training at the Universitat de València attended a much anticipated event. María Pareja Olcina, career civil servant at IES Violant de Casalduch in Benicassim, spoke about “Professional development of Spanish language and literature teaching staff and encouraging reading in secondary school students.”
It was a truly inspiring meeting, given the guests’ dual profile as both a teacher and as a writer, as well as her experience in problematic schools, in competitive examinations and in promoting reading in all genres. She has also organised several literary contests in digital poetry writing for ESO students, using resources such as Abpoesía. She brought copies of her books Relacionados, Dame un “like” and Primavera 2020 to give to the students.
At the end of the meeting, the speaker made time to respond to questions and provided her Instagram (@mariaparejaolcina) for students to reach out.
