
On 26 April, Roy Páramo, a professor from Salamanca, spoke to us about PBL (Project Based Learning) and ApS (Service-Learning) in Spanish Language and Literature to encourage motivation among secondary school students.
Roy Páramo de Llano is a professor at Colegio La Milagrosa (Salamanca), where he also holds the positions of ESO (Spanish secondary education) coordinator and head of the innovation and training area. He is also a trainer in active methodologies at the Centro de Formación e Innovación Educativa (CFIE) in Salamanca and author of the guide La implantación del aprendizaje cooperativo en Educación Primaria y ESO: una propuesta desde la experiencia.
On this occasion, he gave a talk-colloquium Via Criminis: ABP y ApS en el aula de Lengua castellana y Literatura en ESO, focused on his latest educational innovation project, which has received numerous awards and recognitions, to the students of the speciality of Spanish Language and Literature of the Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training (MAES).
For almost three hours, Professor Roy Páramo talked about active learning and teaching innovation through his Via Criminis project and other proposals developed in previous courses such as Literatours, Read Write Redemption or Via Litterae, and answered the questions and concerns of the Master's students in an ongoing interaction.
The session ended with a videoconference, via Google Meet, with some of the 4th ESO students who have been part of the Via Criminis project, which led to an interesting dialogue between the MAES students and the students from Salamanca.
