Since the deadline for the TFM submission to  the office of the secretary there is a minimum of 15 working days until its defence before the committee. This date will be announced in the board of postgraduate studies of the Faculty of Economics and in the website of the MDPT.

The committee consisting of three members (a chairperson and two members), will have the printed copies after the defence dates that are established for its analysis with the objective of getting a personal impression, for the later final assessment of the same, in the defence.

This period between the submission and the defence should serve to the students for preparing the defence, using a PowerPoint©Microsoft (application installed on the computers available for the students during the defence) or similar. In this sense, if the student uses another application different to the recommended it is his/her responsibility to ensure its viability in the defence.

The TFM defence  will be public, except upon express and justified request of the student, will last 45 minutes and consists of:

1) Opening of the defence by the chairperson of the committee, establishing its mechanics.
2) Presentation of the TFM by the student, about 15 minutes, in which he/she has to summarise it, stopping primarily on the results and conclusions. In this sense the student has to consider that the TFM committee have had the TFM previously and that they have read it entirely.
3) Comments and considerations of each of the members of the committee on the TFM submitted.
4) Final considerations of the student on the commentaries made by the members of the committee.
