The CIB 2023 is a scientific and informative event intended for students of biomedical sciences. It will take place in a blending learning modality and in the Faculty of Medicine, in the Burjassot Campus of the UV.
In this is new edition of the Congress of Biomedical Research a series of conferences and round tables related with research and information, as updated as possible, will take place. There will also be seminars for complementing the practical training of the student and posters, oral communications and of scientific dissemination competitions, with the possibility of winning different prizes.
- What is the CIB 2023?
The XI Congress of Biomedical Research (CIB 2023) is a scientific and informative event that will be held on 8, 9, and 10 of February with a blending learning modality through the Teams platform and in the Faculty of Medicine, in the Burjassot Campus of the UV. In this new edition, the aim of the Congress is not only becoming a new meeting point between science, biomedical research and critical thinking; but also being a useful tool of further training for the student. It is intended for those who are passionate about science, are interested in research, and hold the opinion that science popularization is essential.
The VIII Congress of Biomedical Research (CIB 2020) had a great impact in the Universitat de València and in the rest of universities of the country, with more than 500 registered coming from degrees of different fields in biological and health sciences. In addition, in the last edition, there were almost 400 registered despite being carried out in a blending learning modality due to the difficulties caused by the pandemic.
- How can I participate?
Every year the CIB organises a Competition of Oral Communications and Posters. The aim of this competition, which is focused on biomedical knowledge, is encouraging the student’s participation in the scientific research field through the presentation of their research works with posters and communications. There is a high-quality Jury formed by Members of Departments and Departmental Sections of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the UV. There are three prizes for the three best posters presented by students of Degree, three prizes for the best three oral communications done by students of Degree, and a special award for the students of the master’s degree. This year there is the novelty of a Competition for Scientific Popularization that also has 3 prizes on a degree level and other prize on a higher secondary-education course level. The prizes will be sponsored by the Health and Biomedical Research Institutes and Foundations of the Comunitat Valenciana.

- Program
The congress has an exciting scientific program with conferences given by renowned speakers and round tables. Theoretical knowledge is the basis of the practice of Biomedical research, a practice that is not forgotten in the Congress. Several seminars in which will be possible to experiment and put into practice the knowledge acquired will be organised.
In the social activities of the CIB 2023 there will be online activities and coffees in the breaks between activities.
All of this has an enrolment fee from 20€, and from 10€ if it is online, or free entrance for round tables and conferences. Registration will open in December.
