
The Universitat got off to a good start in the first round of the Regional Sports University Championship (CADU), which took place on Tuesday 27 October and confronted the teams of the Universitat before the Valencia Catholic University Saint Vincent Martyr.
The teams of the Universitat set the performance bar really high in this first round, in which they won all nine games played.
The girls of Juanjo Susín opened the round, who went to Catarroja to dispute, at 10:00h, the first match of the season. A problem in the facilities made that they had to move to the Torrent Campus, where they got to win the game by a resounding 3-0. The same result obtained their mates of the men team, who disputed their match at 12:00h.
Also in Torrent competed the men and women handball teams, at the Anabel Medina sports hall, from the Villa Carmen sports centre, where both teams disputed two very intense games that, finally, ended up with the victory of the Universitat. The men team, coached by Juan Ángel Perdigón, won the match by 26-31. Much more ample was the result of the girls of Sagrario Santana, who closed the scoreboard at 13-44.
The day continued at the facilities of the Universitat de València. The Tarongers Campus hosted the first match from 13:30h, which confronted the men football teams. The players coached by Vicente Amposta performed a good match and got to score three goals and just conceded one, thus, getting the fifth victory of the day. The competition moved to the Blasco Ibáñez Campus, where the basketball and futsal teams played their matches in the facilities of the Aulari V and in the sports hall of Benimaclet, respectively. At 14:00h started the matches of men futsal and women basketball. The two teams started very strong their games and got to maintain the rhythm on the second half, which allowed them to finish the games with a 5-2 in the case of the boys of Javi Arnau and 108-25 of the girls of Pau Gaya.
The day finished with the women futsal and men basketball teams, which started their games at 16:00h. On the grounds of the results of their mates just a few hours before, both teams reliably finished their games. The men basketball team, coached by Nicolás Sánchez, finished with an 81-25, and the girls of Ángel Zurilla did likewise, with a 7-3 that concluded the round of the Championship.
A balance of 9-0 before one of the universities that has grown the most in the CADU league which was very satisfactory in regards to the next round, which will take place on 11 November before the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.
Great social media forwarding
As on previous university sports occasions, the Physical Education and Sports Service offered live coverage and monitoring of the teams through its web page (www.uv.es/sef) and its social networks (Twitter: @sefuv and www.facebook.com/SEFUV) in which all the fans could find immediate information on the results of the matches, feelings and statements of the protagonists.
The forwarding on social networks and the participation on them were very high. In the case of the first day, the publications on Facebook and Twitter got over 8,400 impressions and over 800 interactions among the users.
