Rafa Ibáñez and Gabriel Calvo participated in an international tournament

Rafael Ibáñez and Gabriel Calvo, students of the Universitat and athletes of the Divina Pastora Chair of Adapted Sports of the Universitat de València, competed in an electric wheelchair hockey international championship that took place in Eindhoven (Netherlands) the last week.

The team of Levante UD Masclets, coached by Jesús Calvo and formed by Juan Manuel Fernández, David Martínez, José Vicente Gómez, Rafael Ibáñez, Gabriel Calvo, Edu Valverde, and Alejandro Piquero, experienced one of the most important competitions of their lives, enjoying the sport they are passionate about with more than one hundred players of eight different nationalities.
Levante, the only Spanish team that participated in the event, was in the tournament together with thirteen teams: Gidos Screamers and Somival (Belgium), New Caveliers Praque (Czech Republic), Estonian Wolves (Estonia), Augustiner Tigers, Torpedo Ladenburg and Black Knights Dreieich (Germany), Macron Warriors Viadana W.H. and W.H. Tigers Bolzano (Italy), Iron Cats Zurich and Rolling Thunder Bern (Switzerland), and GP Bull 1 and GP Bulls 2 (Netherlands).

Rafael Ibáñez was with the AllStar Team

The organisation of the tournament prepared a pleasant surprise: a meeting between the Netherlands team and a team of players formed by all the participant teams. Rafa Ibáñez was the chosen one to represent Levante UD Masclets in the All Stars Team, and to enjoy minutes with the best players of the competition. The match finished with the victory of the Netherlands team for 10-3, although in this occasion the result is the least important.
