
The Universitat de València hosted the presentation of the International Congress on Successful Aging & Exercise Training 2016, an event that took place at the Conference Room at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences of the Universitat de València.
The International Congress on Successful Aging & Exercise Training 2016 is a meeting whose objective is fighting against sedentary lifestyle of elderly people and promoting better successful aging policies. Jointly, the Association for Training with the Elder and the Physical Education and Sports Service of the Universitat de València, will organise the IAIOS’ Training Festival 2016, a sports festival that seeks to be the party of the physical activity, the training and the sport for elderly people living in Valencia.
To the presentation have attended as organisers Cristina Blasco, head of the congress and of the Research Unit; Vicente Añó, dean of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Science of the Universitat de València; and José Campos, head of the Physical Education and Sports Service of the Universitat de València. During the presentation of the International Congress on Successful Aging & Exercise Training 2016 and the IAIOS’ Training Festival 2016, Cristina Blasco has emphasised the high participation regarding the number of registered people in both activities (over 70 in the congress and 100 in the festival), as well as the intergenerational experience of the event: “in the central court will meet over 200 people of all ages, it is going to be something very representative of what we want to transmit.” Vicente Añó, by its part, emphasised the “long professional haul in the field of physical activity and sports for the elder that the Universitat de València provides”. The head of the Physical Education and Sports Service has joined the statements of the dean and said that “from the Service we promote many inclusive initiatives that favour physical activity”.
