Article 175 of the Statutes of the Universitat de València establishes the functions of the Centre Student Council:

1. To agree on and propose measures considered appropriate for the better defence of students' rights and interests.
2. To agree on the convening of the Centre Student Council at the intervals established in the regulations.
3. To propose to the Governing Council, for approval, draft regulations governing its constitution and operation.
4. To elect the coordinating board which, in accordance with the regulations, shall ensure compliance with the agreements adopted by the Student Council.
5. To propose the distribution of the budget allocation dedicated, within the Centre, to students' sports and cultural activities.
6. To elect and, where appropriate, revoke representatives on Centre committees and on University committees where a Centre-based representation system has been established.
7. To elect from among its members and, where appropriate, revoke the persons who will serve on the Student Council representing the Centre Student Council.
8. To be heard in disciplinary proceedings opened against students of the respective Centre.
9. To prepare and submit proposals to the Faculty Council and, through the Student Council, to the Governing Council and the Senate.
10. To carry out all tasks entrusted to it by Faculty Council and, in general, those arising from these Statutes.
