Master’s Degree in Functional Recovery in Physiotherapy (MORF) External Internships
The External Internships of the MORF is a compulsory subject worth 12 ECTS, organized into two annual courses: External Internships I (6 ECTS) and External Internships II (6 ECTS). Each course consists of 150 hours of work, of which 135 correspond to on-site training at the center and 15 to the preparation of the final report.
The subject is designed so that students integrate the theoretical knowledge acquired in the master’s program into real clinical contexts, develop professional competencies in the assessment, planning, and application of physiotherapy treatments, and improve their clinical communication skills and interdisciplinary teamwork. Likewise, students are expected to acquire skills in ethical reflection and decision-making in healthcare situations.
Each student has a dual tutoring system. On the one hand, the academic tutor guides the learning process and evaluates the final report. On the other hand, the workplace tutor supervises the clinical practice at the host center, certifies attendance through the signature sheet, and evaluates the competencies acquired.
The subject External Internships I (44647) may be recognized if the student can certify at least 200 hours of professional experience in the enrolled specialty, over a minimum period of 6 months, following the established deadlines. Additionally, students may complete up to 900 hours of extracurricular internships (voluntary), managed through ADEIT and with prior authorization from the Master’s Direction.
The internship model is Autopracticum, managed through the ADEIT website, which allows students to choose a center, for each course, related to their specialty, as long as there is a licensed physiotherapist serving as workplace tutor. For guidance, students can consult the List of Partner Centers 2025–2026.
The Academic Coordination Committee of the MORF annually approves the External Internships Manual, a document that provides all the necessary information for following the course. In addition, from the subject coordination, a narrated with the most relevant information is made available to students. Furthermore, students also have access to the Virtual Classroom for each subject, with all necessary resources.
The internships are carried out at all times under the principles of professional ethics, confidentiality, and respect for those receiving physiotherapy care. Likewise, the University of Valencia assumes by default the Social Security contributions of curricular and extracurricular internships in compliance with current regulations. Finally, students are required to register their activity by daily clock-in of their internships in the Afiliapract application.
