The SBD of the Universitat de València subscribes to a large number of electronic resources. Subscribing to each resource involves signing a licence that stipulates which uses are permitted and which are not. If a user breaches any term of this licence and the resource provider detects misuse, it can suspend access to the entire university community. The user responsible for the computer from which the misuse occurs will be held responsible for this breach. It is important that the resources are used responsibly. The following is a list of permitted and non-permitted uses.

| CREDENTIALS, ACCESS CODES, AND INSTITUTIONAL API KEYS |
Credentials, access codes, API keys, and other authentication mechanisms provided by electronic resource providers are considered sensitive security elements and may affect the entire university community’s access to the service. For this reason, institutional API keys associated with electronic resources contracted by the University of Valencia will not be provided to individual users, given the impact that their disclosure may have on service delivery to the entire university community. Exceptions may only be authorized when there is a duly justified institutional need, the provider expressly permits such use, and individualized management of the credentials is possible. Under no circumstances may institutional access keys, technical credentials, or any other authentication mechanism be shared, published, or disseminated if doing so could compromise security, compliance with licensed agreements, or the continuity of the service. |
