Rut Moyano at the Library of Social Sciences
On Thursday, 27 November, the Paraula viva project, run by the Social Sciences Library, will feature Rut Moyano, from the Local Emergency and Reconstruction Committee (CLER) in Benetússer.
CLERs are models of CiudaDANA participation that are fundamental to reconstruction: "We understand that in most cases it is not just a matter of rebuilding, but of deconstructing. We have to face up to climate change, and it has become clear that the model we had before no longer works." The Paraula viva project gives a voice to those affected by the DANA to preserve collective memory and reclaim the power of words.

"Paraula viva" Series
This autumn, the Gregori Maians Social Sciences Library is launching Paraula Viva, an innovative cultural and social project inspired by the international Human Libraries movement. The aim is to turn the Library into a living space of memory, active listening, and community rebuilding, where people’s voices matter as much as written documents.
The first series will be dedicated to the DANA storm of October 29, 2024, and to its victims. From October to December 2025, various guest speakers —including the writer Carmen Amoraga, comedian Xavi Castillo, representatives of victims’ associations, families who lost loved ones, and professionals from rescue and emergency teams— will create a plural mosaic of personal and collective experiences.
You can find more information and the full program on the project’s website. We look forward to seeing you!
