The Spanish Type Culture Collection (CECT) in collaboration with the National Centre for Food Technology and Safety (CNTA) organized an event MicroBioSpain: the Spanish Collection of Microorganisms Accessible Online. They presented an exclusive online application that showcases the biotechnological potential of strains obtained from the REDESMI (the Spanish Network of Microorganisms) collection pertaining to the leading research centres of Spain.

The event gathered a number of prominent microbiologists, who discussed the possibilities of microorganism research, revealed advances in the main industrial sectors that deal with microorganisms, and conducted a specific session on the Nagoya Protocol.
