The Spanish Type Culture Collection (CECT), a service of the University of Valencia, is a public collection of microorganisms with the status of Microbial Resource Centre.
The type of microbial strains managed by the collection are: bacteria, archaea, filamentous fungi and yeast.
The main services offered by the CECT are:
- Strains supply
- Strains deposits under three modalities: Public Deposit, Safe Deposit and Deposit for patent purposes under the regulationso f the Budapest Treaty.
- Identification and characterization of strains
- Freeze-drying of biological material
