GOALS

The easiest objective to verify was the organization, in the Río Lempa Trinational Border Commonwealth, of a seminar and the proposal of a diploma course for teachers in the area. On the other hand, two events were also organized in Medellín (a discussion and a colloquium) with teachers and students, and it was planned to propose a diploma course.

In both territories there were objectives related to the creation of an inter-university network, the promotion of inter-university research and collaboration between the universities of the territories involved, including the joint publication of research.

RESULTS FOR BOTH TERRITORIES

RESULTS IN THE TRINATIONAL BORDER COMMUNITY OF RÍO LEMPA (MTFRL)

  • Organization and evaluation of the First International Seminar of Educators in the Río Lempa Trinational Border Community.
  • Application in the field of the strategies shared in the conferences and the diploma at the MTFRL.
  • Integration of teaching staff from the four universities of the MTFRL in research groups and/or mixed research, especially focused on the territory of the Commonwealth.
  • Promotion of a network of solidarity schools in the region that facilitates the exchange of teaching experiences, mutual support of the group that has shared the training and dissemination of the project, for the sake of its desirable self-sustainability and expansion of the results of inter-institutional collaboration with the participation of participating schools.
  • Creation of a specific website created for this purpose that facilitates the application of the contents taught and exchange of experiences and resources between members. The Basic Teaching Manual prepared by the GIUV Talis will also be distributed.
  • The teacher seminar in Esquipulas (Guatemala) was a success with about fifty teachers, mayors and councilors participating.

RESULTS IN MEDELLÍN

  • Organization and evaluation of a meeting of professionals involved in the Buen Comienzo project in the city of Medellín for the creation of a training course in Early Childhood Education jointly between the six universities involved.
  • Integration of teaching staff from the six universities of the Buen Comienzo network in research groups and/or mixed research, especially focused on the Early Childhood Education stage.
  • Establishment and consolidation of positive relationships between project agents as a basis for future joint actions, taking advantage of their potential synergies.
  • Social and political impact on the environment. We understand that the importance of education, the school and the teacher will be more fully valued, and its agents will be more willing to support the changes and resources needed in this field.
  • The discussion and colloquium in Medellín were a success with considerable participation.
