This display screen equipment of epidemiological data and trends of oral health indicators has been promoted due to the fact that for the last 4 decades there was no such tool in Spain. It is able to generate more than 8,000 graphs to analyse the evolution of oral health, at national and regional level.

At the XXVII Congress of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology and Oral Public Health (SESPO), held in Toledo on 30 September and 1 October, an epidemiological data viewer containing up to 35 oral health indicators has been presented. Those were collected in the oral health surveys that have been carried out in Spain from the 1980s until now. These indicators include the well-known CAOD indices, tooth decay prevalence, edentulism, periodontal status, malocclusion, MIH, brushing frequency, etc.

This tool allows the user to visualise the indicator and generate epidemiological trend graphs.
Apart from the national data, the application includes indicators obtained from epidemiological studies on oral health carried out in the Comunitat Valenciana.

In our country there is no archive of oral epidemiological data with this type of display screen equipment. That is, capable of generating more than 8,000 different graphs by allowing the selection of survey year, age cohort, sex or socio-economic level.

The tool called 'Oral Health Data Bank Spain-UV' is easy handling, powerful, fast and intuitive. It has been developed in the Universitat de València by the professors José María Montiel y José Manuel Almerich from the Department of Stomatology and by Aarón William Montiel Nicholas, who is a data scientific.

Sponsored by Colgate Palmolive, the second version of the tool will include data from all autonomous communities by autumn 2023.

The first version of the display screen equipment is now available and freely accessible.
