The Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality of the University of Valencia has been defined as one of the primary
objectives the diffusion of the immovable heritage of the University of Valencia.
In this pretext, without any doubt, the historical building La Nau constitutes the greatest bastion of the University of Valencia, both because of its structure and its contents. This singular construction placed in the heart of the city of Valencia constitutes the history of the Universitat de València in itself. Additionally, it is home to the main collection of the university patrimony.
Beyond being a historical witness, it has been the will of the University to maintain La Nau and transform it into the main cultural
reference of the university institution. It is for this reason that the Historic Library coexists with the old office of the principal, the
paraningo, the Aula Magna, the Matilde Salvador room, the chapel, the exposition rooms, the classrooms and the cultural management administrative units.
The Support Unit of the office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality is responsible for collaborating, within the University of Valencia, in the coordination and development of politics and any issues related to the three functions of the University of Valencia consigned to the Statutes:
- Participation of the university community in culture
- Extension and diffusion of culture in society
- Conservation and diffusion of its patrimony
