Marisol Lila, Isabel Castillo and Rosa Baños, researchers at the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy of the Universitat de València, are among the top ten women researchers affiliated with the UV with the highest accumulated bibliometric impact, according to the classification based on the April 2026 edition of the GS-ORCID OpenAlex ranking.
Specifically, Marisol Lila, Professor in the Department of Social Psychology, appears in fifth position; Isabel Castillo, also from the Department of Social Psychology, occupies seventh position; and Rosa Baños, from the Department of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatments, is ranked ninth. The presence of three researchers from the Faculty among the top ten positions at the Universitat de València represents a significant recognition of the quality, continuity and impact of the research carried out in Psychology at our university.
Marisol Lila is a leading researcher in the field of violence against women in intimate relationships and in psychosocial intervention with men convicted of gender-based violence. Her career is linked to the Contexto Programme, an initiative developed at the Universitat de València since 2006 that integrates research, training, intervention and prevention of gender-based violence through work with perpetrators.
Isabel Castillo has developed an extensive career in Social Psychology applied to physical activity, sport and exercise. Her research focuses particularly on motivational processes in sports and educational contexts, as well as on their relationship with well-being, performance and healthy lifestyles, with special attention to the adolescent population.
Rosa Baños is Professor of Psychopathology and a specialist in Clinical Psychology. Her research has focused on psychopathology, assessment and treatment of psychological disorders, as well as on the promotion of well-being and quality of life. She has played a prominent role in the development of research lines that incorporate technologies applied to psychological intervention and mental health.
The ranking “Mujeres investigadoras españolas y en España. Edición GS-ORCID OpenAlex abril 2026”, prepared by Isidro F. Aguillo from Cybermetrics Lab (IPP-CSIC), includes 12,110 profiles of Spanish women researchers working in Spain or abroad, as well as foreign women researchers affiliated with Spanish institutions. The classification uses public Google Scholar profiles with ORCID identifiers and, in this edition, incorporates equivalent indicators from OpenAlex.
The ranking is based on bibliometric indicators of accumulated impact, mainly the h-index and number of citations, both in Google Scholar and OpenAlex. For each researcher, the best available metric between the two sources is used, with the aim of partially compensating for differences in coverage between platforms. As with any bibliometric classification, these results should be interpreted as aggregate indicators of scientific visibility and impact.
The Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy congratulates Marisol Lila, Isabel Castillo and Rosa Baños on this recognition, which highlights the strength of women researchers in Psychology at the Universitat de València and their contribution to areas of high social impact such as the prevention of gender-based violence, the promotion of healthy lifestyles, sport psychology, mental health and innovation in psychological treatments.
