The landscape is important for the general interest environmentally and culturally speaking. It creates welfare, a group identity and economic dynamism.
The landscape must be taken into account in terms of spatial and urban development planning. Creating a territorial plan democratically and respecting the landscapes permits us to fulfill the landscape aspirations of our people and democratize our landscape quality objectives.
In this sense, the Chair of Civic Participation and Valencian Landscapes is an academic platform aiming to reflect and research on themes linked to the people’s view and value of the Valencian landscapes. In addition, it also disseminates information regarding landscapes and civic participation. This is the result of the collaboration between the Valencian Department for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility and the Universitat de València to disseminate information on the Valencian landscapes.
