Our goal is to develop training, research, knowledge transfer and outreach activities in the field of youth studies and youth work. The lines of work of the Chair are numerous and varied, bearing in mind that we work on everything that affects young people. We consider young people to be anyone who falls between the ages of 12 and 30. It is our intention to advance and bolster youth work by providing tools for youth accompaniment in their search for identity while promoting optimal development, personal well-being and social inclusion, community and political inclusion.
Our audience includes a wide span of professionals and entities within the youth sector. Among those professionals are youth officers, technical staff in the service of town councils, associations of municipalities, the third sector and other professionals that work with young people in the areas of sport, culture and more.
This audience also includes university teaching staff and undergraduate and master’s students in areas related to the youth field (psychology, education, sociology, education, social work, etc.). Additionally, this Chair is directed toward non-university teaching staff (secondary, vocational training, high school, adult and guidance counsellors), as well as students in training programs related to youth work and youth leisure, such as monitors and youth leaders.
Further still, we intend to connect with research staff working in both public and private research centres and representatives of companies within the youth, education and educational leisure sectors. Lastly, our actions are also aimed at the media in order to work together on the promotion of a realistic and accurate view of young people.
