The UV Youth Chair recognises students at an awards ceremony

On 13 December, the Boardroom of the UV’s Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy held the presentation of the UV Youth Chair Awards for outstanding academic work in the field of youth.

The event was attended by prominent personalities such as Rosa Maria Donat Beneito, Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transfer of the UV; Vicent Ripoll Gimeno, Director General of the Valencian Institute for Youth (Vice-Presidency and Regional Department of Equality and Inclusive Polices, Valencian Government); and Paz Viguer Seguí, Director of the Youth Chair.

During the event, the awarded works were presented, and the authors themselves had the opportunity to present the most outstanding aspects of their research. This was followed by the presentation of the well-deserved diplomas to the participants. Those awarded in this edition include:

Best Undergraduate Degree Final Project (TFG)

  • Carla Murillo Grifo received this award and a cash prize of 400 euros for her work on a socio-educational programme for social participation through artistic mediation.

Best Master’s Degree Final Project (TFM)

  • Janis Piñana Fernández stood out with her research on educational intervention with young people in the youth plans of the Valencian Youth Network, for which she received a price of 500 euros.

Best Doctoral Thesis

  • David Gil Solsona received the award for the best doctoral thesis, worth 1000 euros, for his work on changes in the processes of youth independence in Spain between 1990 and 2020 in comparative perspective.

Best Research Project 2023

  • Angustias Olga Fernández García was awarded for her outstanding project on the prevention of sexting practices and experiences of sexual victimisation in a group of young people in the protection system".

This award not only rewards the effort and dedication of these students, but also highlights the quality of their research that contributes to knowledge and understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by young people in today’s society.
