The general objective of this project is to study the changes in climate trends that are occurring in the Valencian Community as a result of anthropogenic changes introduced in the climate system.
Analysis and modelling trends in the Comunidad Valenciana regarding Climate Change
The main objective of the current project is to study the changes in climate trends taking place in the Comunidad Valenciana as a consequence of anthropogenic changes introduced in the climate system. This study intends to expect and foresee possible problems paying special attention to adverse events (heat and cold waves, pouring rains, droughts, damage to agriculture) with a potential impact on population.
Development of innovative eco-friendly strategies based on miPEPs and proximal sensors to optimize the use of water and nitrogen in tomato cultivation
In the current context of climate change and accelerated population growth, optimizing the use of water and nitrogen in crops are key aspects to increase plant resilience and sustainable production, avoiding the depletion of natural resources and soil pollution and biodiversity loss to which local varieties are particularly susceptible that are currently disappearing at an unprecedented rate. It is therefore imperative to implement advanced smart and sustainable agronomic strategies.
New techniques and modeling in remote sensing for the prediction improvements of extreme phenomena associated to climate change in the mediterranean iberian basin.
The objectives of this multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary project are: the evaluation of climate change trends, for the entire IMB, mainly in terms of two Essential Climate Variables (ECV, defined by the Global Climate Observing System), i.e., temperature and precipitation; the monitoring of these variables with ground-observed and satellite data, and their forecast at short to medium terms; and the study of associated extreme events and trend impacts.
