The project “Mujeres, Arte y Antigüedad. Rompiendo tópicos” (Women, Art and Antiquity. Breaking clichés) is born with the objective of making the role of women in ancient times societies more visible, highlighting their participation in fields traditionally ignored by historiography. Through scientific research based visual recreations, this project aims to challenge stereotypes and reclaim the presence of women in politics, art, material production and other spheres of social life.
Each year, the Arsmaya Research Group makes a calendar with illustrations from the artist Érika Meijide Jansen who, in close collaboration with the research team, offers a new look at the history of women of various Ancient Mediterranean and Pre-Hispanic America cultures.
