
During an intense week of academic activities at theSchool of Media and CommunicationShanghai Jiao Tong University celebrates its fourthGlobal Forum on Cultural Management, which has brought together more than 200 professors and students specializing in the cultural industry and its management, from all over China and other countries.
The event, which took place on the Minghang campus, featured a distinguished participation by Professor David Throsby, internationally recognized for his work in the economics of culture, who gave an inaugural lecture focused on the relationship between culture and the public sphere.
Econcult was represented at this important forum by Chuan Li, a member of the research team, who participated in the round table entitled"The Public Nature of Cultural Enterprises in the Digital Age". In this space for dialogue, he shared his thoughts and experiences with industry professionals and prestigious academics: Ms. Fang Weijin, Director of Human Resources at Fosun Holiday, Mr. Rui Tang, former General Manager of the Shanghai and Guangzhou divisions of the Dentsu agency, and Professor Jian Lin, fromThe Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The roundtable opened a rich debate on the new roles of cultural enterprises in an increasingly digital context, highlighting their social function and impact on shaping the contemporary public sphere.
