An Innovative indicator map for the Cotec Foundation that boosts the analysis of the impact of culture on socioeconomic development
. Econcult, the Research Unit in Cultural Economics of the University of Valencia, has launched a new and innovative Cultural Indicators Map developed for the Cotec Foundation. This project offers an analytical tool that facilitates the visualization and evaluation of the impact of culture on the socioeconomic development of Spanish regions. The indicator map is a tool that collects and visualizes key elements related to the cultural and creative sector and their connection with other key sectors of economic and social development. Through a broad selection of indicators, it allows the identification of trends, opportunity areas, and the measurement of culture's contribution in terms of employment, innovation, social cohesion, and sustainability. A key tool for strategic decision-making This tool, useful for governments, researchers, and cultural sector actors, aims to serve as a foundation for informed decision-making and the creation of public policies that promote sustainable development based on culture. The map provides easy and dynamic access to relevant information, offering a comprehensive view of the cultural ecosystem in each region. Culture as a driver of transformation The development of this map arises in a context where cultural and creative industries are gaining prominence in territorial development strategies and the shift toward a knowledge- and innovation-based economy. Through this project, the Cotec Foundation reinforces its commitment to promoting innovation as a driver of development, recognizing culture as a key factor in the country's competitiveness and sustainability.
