Econcult, the research unit in the economics of culture at the University of Valencia, continues to strengthen its relations with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) through collaboration in the analysis and development of methodologies for the study of creativity, innovation and cultural spaces.
Last Tuesday, February 11, Pau Rausell, director of Econcult, and Francesc Felipe, a member of the unit, met with the Spanish ambassador to the OECD, Ximo Puig, at the Spanish embassy in Paris. This meeting served to highlight the importance of culture as a driver of economic and social development in multilateral institutions. Afterwards, the Econcult delegation went to the OECD Palace in Paris to hold a meeting with Ekaterina Travkina, coordinator of the OECD's global area of culture, creative industries and events. In this work session, joint strategies were addressed to analyze the impact of the creative and cultural industries on the global economy, as well as to develop new methodological tools that allow measuring the effectiveness of public policies in this sector on a global scale. This collaboration with the OECD represents a step forward in the internationalization of Econcult and reaffirms its commitment to the generation of knowledge applied to the economy of culture.
