Next Monday, September 22 at 7 p.m., Econcult, the Research Area in Cultural Economics and Tourism at the University of Valencia, will take part in the global cultural forum MONDIACULT 2025, organized by UNESCO in Barcelona.

As part of this international event, the conference entitled “The needs of the cultural sector of a minoritized language: the Valencian case” will be held at the Octubre Centre de Cultura Contemporània (Valencia), featuring Pau Rausell Köster, director of Econcult. The session, organized by Acció Cultural del País Valencià (ACPV), will address the challenges faced by minoritized languages in the cultural sphere, presenting the Valencian case as a significant example. Alongside Pau Rausell, the event will also feature Anna Oliver, president of ACPV, and Marian Díez, cultural manager. MONDIACULT is the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development, a meeting space held only every few decades that brings together governments, institutions, organizations, and professionals from around the world to reflect on the present and future of culture. The first edition took place in Mexico in 1982, the second also in Mexico in 2022, and in 2025 UNESCO convenes it in Barcelona, consolidating it as the global reference event in the field of cultural policies.
