Joan Sanchis, researcher at Econcult and Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia, participated in the Second European 4D Conference held in Barcelona. His participation is part of the research activities within the European project AI-Secrett, focused on creativity and artificial intelligence.
The event was organised by Accent Obert, an initiative for democratic innovation and open digital governance, and by the Institute for Democratic Digitalisation Xnet, a leading European organisation in the defence of digital rights, transparency, and citizen participation.
The conference explored the need to develop public digital infrastructures that ensure transparent, ethical, and community-driven technological progress. Researchers, institutions, and social actors reflected on the ethical and political implications of democratic digitalisation in Europe.
The findings of the conference will feed into the research that Econcult is conducting as part of the AI-Secrett project, coordinated with 22 partner institutions across Europe. The project aims to create a training programme on artificial intelligence applied to various productive sectors, with special focus on cultural and creative industries.
For Econcult, European technological sovereignty, transparency, and digital rights are key principles for training creative professionals aware of the ethical and social challenges of AI.
