Members of Econcult Jordi Sanjuán and Fernando Álvarez participate in the 62nd Congress of the European Regional Science Association

Jordi Sanjuán and Fernando Álvarez presented their investigations at the Congress of the European Regional Science Association, held from 28 August to 1 September in Alicante.

This year, with the slogan "Urban Challenges and Sustainable Technological Revolution", the 62st ERSA Congress took place in Alicante, in which more than 1000 academic researchers and members of the public and private sectors and non-governmental organisations from around 60 countries participated.

The proposed theme for this edition was "urban challenges and sustainable technological revolution". According to the same organizers, the congress aims to present the numerous urban challenges and innovation that will promote sustainability in the cities' technological revolution.

Fernando Álvarez presented his research under the title "The economic effect of the cultural and creative industries: an input-output analysis for 66 countries using inter-country input-output tables" (Fernando Álvarez, Rafael Boix ). Chuan Li). While Jordi Sanjuán exhibited his work called "The effect of the cultural and creative industries on the well-being of regions: a machine learning approach" (Jordi Sanjuán, Rafael Boix ). They both had the opportunity to present and discuss their theses to hundreds of professionals in a framework in which they exposed the most frequent problems of urban and regional development and shared knowledge, views, methods and fruitful results of research.
