The Observatory on Government, Strategy and Competitiveness of Companies (GECE) presents its Key "The use of board of directors in the most competitive Valencian family companies is 14.5 points higher than in the least competitive" in collaboration with the Chair of Family Business of the University of Valencia, promoted by Bankia and the Valencian Institute of Economic Research (IVIE).

The key analyzes the competitiveness of Valencian companies and their relationship with their corporate governance, management and strategy. This "Key" addresses the study of the systems of government used by family businesses, which represent 91% of the companies in the Valencian Community. In addition to the positive partnership between the use of board of directors and the level of competitiveness of companies, the data indicate that the councils double the likelihood of having other management and governance structures, both of the company and of the relationship between the owner family and the company.
