On Sunday 16th February, the AlumniUV Collective has planned a trip to the hole of Bèrnia, the watchtower of Las Marinas accompanied by the mountain guide Joan Tasa. A 3-hour green route with magnificent views over the two Marinas. Registration begins January 27th and should be phoned directly to Fil-per-Randa. Reservation can also be made through their website.

The Serra de Bèrnia is a coastal alignment between the Algar river and the Mascarat ravine which separates the two Marinas. It is topped by Mount Bèrnia (1,128 metres high) with spectacular scarps that, from the eastern side, overlook the bay of Altea to Puig Campana and from the Penyal d’Ifach to the Montgó on the intense blue of the Mediterranean, which offers an indescribable landscape. Bèrnia Castle is an old fortification that was rebuilt in 1570 to prevent communication between the Moors of Marina Alta and those of the Benissa plain.

Departure at 8 a.m. from Nuevo Centro. Transport to the Cases de Bèrnia. Green route. 3 hours approximately, with a slight slope up to the midday face of the mountain range and the Fort of Bèrnia, with magnificent views over the two Marinas. Visit to the monumental ruins of the castle of Bèrnia and then back for lunch. In the evening, a walk through the streets of Benissa's historic centre.

The price of the visit is €28. Lunch will be optional. Remember to always carry your Alumni Card. In all tours and visits, if the entrance tickets must be paid, it means that they are not included.
