A round table will analyse the role of women in l'Horta of Valencia

  • March 22nd, 2019
Women have played a key role in the history of l'Horta.

The Chair “L'Horta de València: territori metropolità” will organise the round table "Visibility / invisibility of the women of l'Horta of Valencia" on the 27th of March. This conference will analyse the traditional female role in this space, as well as the new business models led by women.

Despite the key role played by rural women throughout history, it has not been until recently that they have begun to be publicly recognised. For this reason, the chair will bring together three women who are currently involved in the task of recovering l'Horta of Valencia through new agricultural projects adapted to current consumption models: Alba Herrero and Natalia Castellanos, from the Las Espigolaores collective, and Amparo Martí, from the Farmers' Union.

The round table will take place in the Palmireno Room of the Faculty of Geography and History and will begin at 12.30 pm with the presentation of the chair by its co-directors, Enric Guinot and Juan Carlos Membrado, and the Vice-Principal of Territorial Projection and Society, Jorge Hermosilla. Afterwards, the documentary of Las Espigolaores, Entre el día y la noche no hay pared, (Between day and night there is no wall.) will be screened.
