The PAGODA Chair sponsors the congress “Open and non-discriminatory public algorithms”

On 25 and 26 April, the Universitat de València will host the 10th Congress on the Progress of Open Government and the 6th Congress on Good Governance and Transparency of the Valencian Community.

The event, to be held in the Joaquín Tomás Villarroya Conference Room (1p20) of the Department of Constitutional Law of the Faculty of Law, is aimed at experts in the field, as well as professionals and students interested in analysing and debating the importance of open and non-discriminatory public algorithms.

The opening of the conference will be attended by María Elena Olmos Ortega, Secretary General of the Universitat de València; Andrés Gomis Fons, Director General of Transparency, Citizen Service and Good Governance; Javier Palao Gil, Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València; Göran Rollnert Liern, Director of the Department of Constitutional Law and Political Science; and Lorenzo Cotino Hueso, co-director of the conference.

The congress will feature various conferences given by experts in the field, with the aim of addressing algorithmic slant and discrimination in the public sector and the new law and guarantees in this situation. The issue of public transparency and how to regulate it, as well as the implementation of registers or systems of active publicity of public algorithms, will also be discussed.
