Conference on public-private collaboration in the field of research and innovation, organised by the FPCUV as part of the 6th edition of Globaltech.
The conferences about the public-private partnership in research and innovation field have been organised by Science Park Foundation of the Universitat de València and are part of the 4th edition of Globaltech. They have the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment.
In this sixth edition the importance of confidentiality and trade secrets in the development of research carried out at universities and research centres will be highlighted. These are key elements to guarantee the proper protection of the generated results, which aim to facilitate effective public-private collaboration in research, innovation and transfer of the results to the productive sector.
Throughout the session, we will see the different stages of the research process, from the conception of the idea to the exploitation of the results, addressing important issues such as:
- Preventive measures to protect the information during the research.
- Risks associated to the inadequate protection of the results.
- Legal instruments to safeguard confidentiality and trade secrets: legal definition, application, types of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), essential clauses in each case.
- Best practices when managing sensitive information in laboratories and research groups
- Agreements which promote collaboration and negotiation with companies
- Success and failure cases in the protection of university know-how
