The African & Mediterranean Finance Society (AfriMed Finance Society or AFS) is an academic organization that aims at becoming a premier international forum for studying, communicating, encouraging, and celebrating the latest research in financial economics. AFS is particularly devoted to promoting knowledge and knowledge mobilization in Africa. AFS aims also to provide a mutual association of academics, practitioners, and doctoral students with an interest in researching relevant questions in the greater field of Finance to improve public understanding of financial economic problems. AFS encourages the study of finance in the African & Mediterranean economies and elsewhere in the world.

The AfriMed Finance Association (AFS) invites high-quality research submissions for its fourth Annual Conference (AFS 2025), to be held in Valencia, Spain, from July 17 to July 19, 2025. We welcome submissions of both theoretical and empirical research in finance and related business fields. Submissions addressing contemporary challenges such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, political polarization, geopolitical risk, lobbying, ESG, DEI, and corporate disclosure materiality are welcome.

AFS 2025 will feature a “Meet the Editors” session, providing conference participants the opportunity to engage with editors from leading finance journals. Additionally, two Best Paper Awards of $1,000 each will be granted: one sponsored by Research in International Business and Finance (RIBAF) and the other jointly funded by AFS and the Chair for International Finance-Banco Santander that belongs to the Faculty of Economics at the University of Valencia, our host institution.
