Sala NCB2+ para cultivos celulares
NCB2+ room for cell cultures
Type: Laboratory

Room located inside the Cell Culture laboratory (NCB2), with its own equipment and higher level work protocols. Designed to work with viral vectors, GMOs or level 2 biological agents that require greater security.

Description

NCB2+ containment level room with its own entrance lock (inside the Cell Culture laboratory) and access control, negative pressure, PVC walls in scotia moulding and HEPA air inlet and outlet filter.

It has complete equipment: biosafety cabin, compartment incubator, -80ºC freezer for the storage of biological agents, ultracentrifuge for their purification, JULI LG04 for the monitoring of infections with GFP, as well as the small equipment necessary for working with cell cultures.

The compartment incubator has six individual autoclavable polycarbonate chambers. They divide the incubator chamber isolating individual cell types or projects and offering greater protection.

ll this allows to work in this room in aseptic and isolated conditions for the adequate protection of the operator and the sample, to monitor cell growth, as well as to perform infections of viral constructs with GFP and to store biological agents within the same room.

The room also has CO2 detectors installed to ensure user safety.

Terms of use

To be an authorised user of the Cell Culture Service and in particular of the NCB2+ room. To do so, you must be informed about the project, the collaborators who will be working there, the use of biological agents, be familiar with the working rules in the room, take a guided tour by the section’s technicians and have previous experience working with cell cultures.

Access to the facilities is allowed wearing a lab coat, overshoes and a FFP2 mask for exclusive use in this room.
