In order to organise activities and spaces the microscopy section requests to all users the compliance of the following standards:
- The training of a new user in the use of equipment and the access of him/her to this one should be requested by the responsible researcher of the project through a signed document or email, stating the name of the new user and the equipment that he/she is going to use.
- The user should read and know the basic instructions for using the available equipment.
- It is not allowed smoking, drinking or eating in the work rooms.
- If you are not sure about performing some task, no matter how simple it may seem, ASK FOR HELP to the technical staff of the section.
- If you are going to observe a sample for the first time you should inform the technical staff about its characteristics and nature.
- Users must not prepare or handle samples on microscopes or on the tables of the equipment. These operations must be done in the side tables for this purpose.
- Users must register themselves in the book of each equipment, taking responsibility of the session by signing.
- Keep the work area clean, especially when finishing the work session.
- Don’t leave samples inside the equipment.
- Decontaminate the work area after any spill of material.
- All traces of toxic materials must be deposited in the containers provided for that purpose.
- The user will be charged with the minimum booking time of the equipment, charging the time of use only if exceeds the booking.
- Cancellation of a booking will be accepted only if it is made 48 hours in advance or due to force majeure.
- In the case of not using the booking of equipment the booking time will be charged, deducing the time used by a different user if it were the case.
- Don’t install programmes or download files on computers without informing the technical staff.
- Don’t modify the configuration options of equipment without the supervision of the technical staff.
