A roundtable on “The reform to the abortion law: Etic and juridical matters”, which is the closing event of the Master’s Degree in Law and Gender Violence of the UV, will be held at 18:00 at the “Aula Magna” of the historic building of the UV. The debate will comprise speeches by Nicolas Garcia Rivas, full university professor of Criminal Law; Cristina Garcia Pascual, tenured university professor of Law Philosophy; Argelia Queralt Jimenez, accredited tenured professor of Constitutional Law; Javier Boix Reig, full university professor of Criminal Law; Elena Martinez García y Paz Lloria Garcia, directors of the official Master’s Degree in Law and Gender Violence of the UV.
The Master’s Degree and Gender Violence is closed by making an assessment on the situation of women facing male violence against women and paying attention to one of the issues that affect to women’s essential laws. The voluntary interruption of pregnancy is an issue which has bothered to all societies at all historical time. The ethical and juridical issues which will be suggested in the debate will hold a special interest at a time in where it is expected to change the current law by another law more respectful to women’s rights.
Apart from this debate held at the "Aulas Seminario" (Seminar Rooms on the third floor) it will take place the conference “Allien Internament Centres: no-right zones”, Xavi Torregrosa, vice-president of Valencia Acoge, within the framework programming of “Forum de Debats” (Forum of Debates).
Apart from the two acts held this morning, there is the usual theatre programming at 19:30 with “Amnesia. The Best Reality Show” directed by Ignacio Moreno and by “lletraferits & comediats” (free entrance with invitation an hour before in the secretary’s office) and the great exhibition of Manuel Boix at the “Sala Academica”, which will be inaugurated at 20:00. The entrance to all the activities is free.
