The ex-principal of the Universitat de València Francisco Tomás is accepted this Thursday, 23 February, on the Royal Academy of Medicine of the Valencian Community. The meeting will begin at 19:00 in Aula Magna at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (Blasco Ibáñez Avenue, 15) Francisco Tomás obtained the Medal of the University in October 2010.

   

During the event, the new academic will pronounce a conference titled “Structure and dynamic of the proteins. Multiscale model applied to biomolecules”.  On behalf of the Academy will answer Juan Viña Ribes.

Francisco Tomás Vert was born in Valencia on 20 October 1943. He graduated in Chemical Sciences from the Universitat de València, awarded with the Extraordinary Prize of Degree. Doctor in Chemical Sciences from Universitat de València (1971), with the Extraordinary Prize of Doctoral Studies too, he is the author of 137 scientists publications in form of articles in magazines of the speciality and chapters of books, apart from numerous communications and presentations in scientist conference.

She has directed 19 doctoral thesis and 14 degree dissertations. A large part of the authors of these are now full university professors or tenured professors of the University.  Grantholder of the Fundación Juan March 1976, he was given a grant of the Visiting Professors Programme of Iberdrola Science and Technology.

Francisco Tomás was principal of the Universitat de València on 2002 and 2010. Previously, the was vice-principal of Investigation too.
