Information day on technological platforms, today Wednesday at the Science Park

The Office of the Vice-Principal for Research and Science Policy has organized, within the framework of Valencia Campus of International Excellence VLC/Campus, an information day under the title ‘Plataformas tecnológicas, un socio clave para la colaboración pública y privada’, which takes place today, Wednesday 16 January, at the Science Park. Issues such as the benefits of participation in technological platforms will be addressed in the meeting, both from the business and researchers’ point of view.

Technological platforms are seen as key tools to properly respond to sectoral problems by improving competitiveness and promoting research and innovation. Active participation and cooperation between companies and research institution in these platforms is essential to contribute to the technological transfer, the creation of international networks and the dissemination within the social-economic sector.

Accordingly, the professors Jordi Garcés and Estrella Durá, at the Research Institute Polibienestar of the University of Valencia, together with Maria Ferri, head the management of the tourism technological platform THINKTUR. Its aim is to provide innovation, sustainability and competitiveness strategies to the entire value chain of the tourist industry in Spain. THINKTUR was created through a joint initiative of Polibienestar, the Hotel Technological Institute dependent on the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation, SEGITTUR (State Company for Tourism Technology and Innovation Management) and AMETIC (Association of Telecommunications and Digital Technologies Companies).

The format of the meeting will consist of fifteen-minute presentations made by the invited speakers’ experts in the field, and it will also offer a networking space for the exchange of ideas. Platforms related to the food, chemical, water, wine and the digital home sectors will be also presented during the meeting.

The event begins at 9:30 and it will conclude at around 13:00. The Office of the Vice-Principal for Research and Science Policy organizes this meeting, though the Research Results Transfer Office (OTRI), within the framework of Aulas de Innovatión (Innovation Classroom), instrument in support of the University Strategic Plan of Transfer and the development, within the Valencia Campus of International Excellence VCL/Campus.

The Assembly Hall of the Head Building at the Science Park, located in José Beltrán Street, 2, Paterna, will host the meeting.
