The speeches of May will take place in the headquarters of Requena, Paterna, Massamagrell, Quart de Poblet, l’Eliana, Ontinyent, Alzira and Cullera. It is a complementary activity of the program Universitat y Societat (University and Society) (‘UniSocietat’) which wants to approach the Universitat to the society, to transfer knowledge to the citizenship and to introduce the Universitat de València in Valencian territory.

The conferences of the cycle ‘UniSocietat, Primavera 2016’ (InfoSocietat, Spring 2016) are offered monthly and free to general public for the population where they are organised and its surroundings. The talks, by professors of the Universitat de València, present current or interest topics to the citizenship from different disciplines (Economy, Heritage, Science, Health, Psychology, Environment, History or Literature).
The first speech of May will be on the 5 in the Cultural Space Feliciano Antonio Yeves ofRequena (Utiel-Requena), where the professor Rafael Gil (Art History Department) will give a talk entitled “Nuevas visiones de la obra de Francisco de Goya”.
On Thursday 12, Jesús Olavarría (Department of Mercantile Law 'Manuel Broseta Pont') will explain the different kinds of companies in the Multipurpose Centre Valentín Hernáez of Paterna (Horta Oest). That day, Fernando Sapiña (Department of Inorganic Chemistry) will be in the Cultural Centre of Quart de Poblet (Horta Oest), where he will offer the speech ‘Energéticamente dependientes bajo la dictadura del carbono’.
On the 12 will take place too a conference in Ontinyent, where students of UniSocietat and general public from the capital and from the Vall d’Albaida will able to attend to the talk entitled ‘De Tirant lo Blanc a Don Quijote: entre caballeros históricos y clásicos literarios’, which will be given by the professor Rafael Beltrán (Department of Spanish), in the Caixa Ontinyent Cultural Centre.
In Massamagrell (Horta Nord), on the 17 May, Manuel Alegre (Department of Labour and Social Security Law), will share his studies about the Welfare State and the social protection.. On the 18 May in Cullera (Ribera Alta) and l’Eliana (the Camp de Túria) hold speceialists of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication. The professor Antonio Briz (Hispanic Studies) will give a conference entitled ‘Saber hablar’ in the Municipal Auditorium of Cullera. As well, the Training Centre of Adult People de l’Eliana will hold the talk ‘la prensa satírica y la risa valenciana: una historia triste’, by the doctor Francesc Martínez Gallego (Department of Language Theory and Communication Sciences).
On the 16 May, the full university professor Ángel Latorre (Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology) will expone in the Culture Centro of Alzira (Ribera Alta) his thesis about the emotions world and how to manage them through intelligence.
The cycle of conferences ‘Unisocietat, spring 2016’ has been organised by the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, with the collaboration of the local governments for Ontinyent, Quart de Poblet, Cullera, Massamagrell, l’Eliana, Gandia, Alzira, Paterna and Requena, and the financial support for Caixa Popular. Its purpose is to complement academic courses of the programme ‘Unisocietat’, which bring more than 1.2000 enrolled in 2015-2016 students together.
