Universitat de Valencia organizes a tribute to Ernest Lluch

The Principal of the Universitat, Esteban Morcillo, has participated at a university tribute to Ernest Lluch, lecturer and Minister for Health murdered by ETA eleven years ago. The tribute includes the exhibition ‘Ernest Lluch. El valor de la raó’, inaugurated at the Faculty of Geography and History, which is going to run until the end of January.

The Principal of the Universitat, Esteban Morcillo, has participated at a university tribute to Ernest Lluch, lecturer and Minister for Health murdered by ETA eleven years ago. The tribute includes the exhibition ‘Ernest Lluch. El valor de la raó’, inaugurated at the Faculty of Geography and History. The tribute at the Faculty of Economics was presided by Esteban Morcillo as well, along with Trinidad Casasús, Dean of the Faculty; the president of the Valencian section of Fundación Ernest Lluch, Vicent Soler; Pedro Carrasco, Vice-Principal for Research and Daniel González-Serisola, Principal's Delegate for the Students, among other figures.

The Principal recalled that Lluch was 'a committed man, a freedom fighter, a very generous man who will be reminded for his nature and his deeds'. He also stated tha Lluch was the Ministry of Health who achieved a universal health system: 'Ernest Lluch was a real scholar who was infamously killed because his defense of dialogue.'
