This is a joint effort by teaching and research staff from different departments of the University and other specialists of l'Horta. The multidisciplinary approach is the hallmark of this work, which reviews aspects of l'Horta from the point of view of environmental education, biodiversity (flora, vegetation, fauna, boundaries), cultural values (literature, painting), geography human and physical, art history, archeology or history.
Jorge Hermosilla, vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, stressed that this exhibition, Un espai cultural que cal protegir, "aims to reclaim the Valencian heritage and raise public awareness about the need to preserve the landscape of l'Horta de València, as it is a historical site with cultural and environmental values that we respect and admire."
Moreover, the president of the Mancomunitat de l'Horta Sud, Ramon Soledad, said that "to host this exhibition at the Mancomunitat in Torrent is a privilege. Thanks to this exhibition, many citizens will know the environmental and cultural richness that we have and so, we can protect this precious space for the Valencian people. " Ramon Soledad added that is the second time that the Mancomunitat of Torrent is hosting an exhibition of the "University and its natural environments": "We also hosted the exhibition Parc Natural de l'Albufera here and it was a success, and that's why I'm sure that people will receive this one likewise"
This initiative represents the University's willingness to publicize and spread the main aspects of the Valencian territory through the rich contributions of teachers and researchers. The exhibition is open to the public from 6 February to 3 March at the Museu Comarcal de l'Horta Sud Josep Ferrís March in Torrent.
