The literary universe of Rafael Chirbes will be analysed in a congress

An international congress analyses, between 9th and 12th May, the literary universe of Rafael Chirbes. The event coincides with the 30 years of the publication of ‘Mimoun’, finalist work of the VI Prize Herralde of Novel in 1988.

The initiative is coordinated by Javier Lluch-Prats, of the Department of Spanish Filology, and by the Rafael Chirbes Fundation. It will bring together for the first time more than 50 specialists in the work of Rafael Chirbes (1949-2015), coming from more than 20 universities of Argentina, Brazil, USA, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands and Switzerland.

As lecturers, will participate: Joan Oleza (Universitat de València), Fernando Valls (Univesitat Autònoma de Barcelona), Ángel Basanta (literary critic), Maarten Steenmeijer (Radboud University, Nijmegen), Valerie Miles (Universitat Pompeu Fabra), Valeria De Marco (São Paulo University), Elena Cabezalí (Rafael Chirbes Fundation), as well as the writters Marta Sanz and Alfons Cervera. 

On 9th May it will take place in the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication of the Universitat de València. And from Thursday 10th to 12th in the Casa de la Paraula - Baleària Port Dénia.
