The film shows the unique history of Pep Gimeno, a phenomenon of folk music and traditional song in Valencia. Botifarra started singing in the Puig street in Xativa in 1975, when he was only 15 years old, and since 1978 he toured the villages in the region of La Costera and La Vall d’Albaida to record folk songs transmitted orally for centuries, interpreted by recent folksingers. The subsequent success of Botifarra, after recording his first solo album in 2006, has made new generations sing those forgotten songs -now renovated and updated- in the same way as they sing commercial music heard in the media.
