The book “Incunables y post-incunables valencianos” by Julián Martín Abad will be presented in the Sala Duc de Calàbria at the Historical Library of València on Thursday 27 March at 5:30pm. The participants in the event are: Cristina Tomás Martínez, Head of the Libraries and Documentation Service of the Universitat de València; Marco Antonio Coronel Ramos, full university professor of Latin Filology of the UV; and Julián Martín Abad, author of the book.
Five and a half centuries after the arrival of the printing press to València, this rigorous catalogue of valencian incunabula and post-incunabula is presented, preceded by a introductory study in which a detailed story of previous insufficient bibliographic control and presents the typographic, editorial and textual anatomy of the 220 known editions, set aside due to the singularity of the preserved manuscripts, controlled across the length and breadth of the global library geography. Researchers, librarians, bibliophiles, antique dealers, book and history lovers and people interested in the history of the València of the 15th century and the first half of the 16th will find in this book a very trustworthy consult tool and, at the same time, a detailed approach to the characterisation of the production of the primitive press workshops.
