The Botanical Garden commemorates the Science Day with an Open Day

Like every year in November, institutions, research centres, cultural spaces, educational centres and many more places in towns and cities are filled with science to celebrate the Science and Technology Week. The Botanical Garden, which schedules scientific activities throughout the year, also adds to this commemoration with the celebration of an open day and special guided tours.

Free entry all day (from 10 to 18) on Saturday 24 November. In addition, the director of the Botanical Garden, Jaime Güemes, will guide two visits, one in Valencian (11 a.m.) and the other one in Spanish (12 noon). Attendants will have the opportunity to learn the history of a Garden that emerged in the sixteenth century hand-in-hand with other European botanical gardens, how it got to its current location in 1802, the ancient Huerto de Tramoieres, outside the city walls, and all the following steps until it became the Botanical we know today. Furthermore, they will also be able to look closely at its collections, from the Botanical School that welcomes us as soon as we enter, to the medicinal, Mediterranean, succulent, dye or orchard plants among others, as well as the impressive collection of palm trees and monumental trees.
